The Alfond Inn in Winter Park ranks among Florida’s top resorts, according to a survey of Travel + Leisure magazine and website readers.
The Central Florida stay is listed number 11 on a list of 15 top resorts in the Sunshine State, ranked among hotels in Key West, Palm Beach and Clearwater Beach. Travel + Leisure notes there’s still competition in such a hot vacation destination that boasts 1,200 miles of coastline, 660 miles of beaches and more than 4,000 properties.
These overnight stays were chosen by readers because of their proximity to fun activities, but also their facilities, service, food and overall value. Based on these criteria, The Alfond Inn scored 92.15 out of 100.
The 112-room boutique hotel opened its doors less than a decade ago but has already garnered a reputation as one of the best places to stay in Orlando and Florida. The inn has been recognized in rankings from Condé Nast Traveler, Family Vacationist, The Times in London, AAA and previous Travel + Leisure lists.
Hotel highlights include on-site dining at Hamilton’s Kitchen, dog-friendly accommodations, an art collection, a heated pool, a fitness center, valet parking and vacation packages that include Winter Park experiences.
Net operating income from the hotel is directed to The Alfond Scholars program at Rollins College, the owner of the inn.
Room rates vary by month and demand but start around $250 per night. For more information, visit thealfondinn.com or travelandleisure.com.
