Willie Nelson, Black Pumas among Texans to get Grammy noms

TEXAS — Nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards have been announced on Tuesday, and there was no shortage of Texas artists in the mix.

Stalwart Willie Nelson is up for a Grammy in the Finest Traditional Pop Album group for his launch, “That’s Lifestyle.” The album is a tribute to Frank Sinatra.

Austin-centered duo Black Pumas are up for awards in rock groups. Their newest album, “Capitol Cuts – Live from Studio A,” is up for an award in the Greatest Rock Album class, and the track “Know You Better” from that album is up in the Rock Effectiveness group.

Houston’s Megan Thee Stallion is up in the Ideal Rap Functionality class.

Golden, Texas, indigenous Kacey Musgraves been given nominations in the Best State Music and Very best Country Solo Overall performance groups for her music, “Camera Roll.”
