The annual fright-fest, which is scheduled for select nights in the Universal Studios park from September 2 – October 31, 2022, now encompasses the gamut of the grisly and grotesque, from vengeance-seeking pumpkins and lurking fanged creatures to bloodthirsty mutants and seaside zombies.
Halloween Horror Nights big reveal includes the final six of the 10 haunted houses:
Spirits of the Coven
Enter an unsettling 1920s speakeasy, where visitors suddenly discover to their horror that THEY are set to be the secret ingredient in a terrifying witches brew.
Bugs: Eaten Alive
Get ready for a gut-wrenching infestation of epic proportions as hordes of many-legged creepy-crawlies appear out of the woodwork in a 1950s house of the future.
Fiesta de Chupacabras
Discover a hidden realm where mythical monsters have become real and are out to wreak bloody havoc on the hapless wanderers who stray into their mysterious village.
Hellblock Horror
This prison for freaks and monsters is walking a deadly tightrope, as the savage inmates are threatening to break free from their cells, with widespread carnage the likely outcome.
Dead Man’s Pier: Winter’s Wake
A petrifying winter storm has enveloped a seaside village, setting the scene for waves of undead fishermen to unleash a catalogue of flesh-eating terrors.
Descendants of Destruction
Prepare yourself for a post-apocalyptic encounter with the bloodthirsty mutants who have taken over the subway tunnels of a devastated New York City.
Five scare zones for 2022 have also been detailed
And, for the first time, they will be part of the theming of the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store. The fearsome five are:
Horrors of Halloween – Visitors will encounter The Pumpkin Lord and all his devious subjects.
Scarecrow: Cursed Soil – Run the gauntlet of these evil scarecrows, who will stop at nothing to harvest mortal souls.
Sweet Revenge – Experience a chilling 1950s Halloween parade gone disastrously wrong as it unleashes a flock of evil trick-or-treaters.
Graveyard: Deadly Unrest – A ghastly cemetery is the location for an ominous Halloween thunderstorm.
Conjure The Dark – Brave the realm of an evil sorceress, who has raised an army of ravening monstrosities.
Each of the scare zones will then feature in a collection of detailed environments in the Tribute Store, culminating in the elaborate Halloween festival setting of the Sweet Revenge zone, that infests the streets outside the store.
Halloween Horror Nights live entertainment
There will be two new shows to provide a live entertainment break from all the horrors:
“Halloween Nightmare Fuel Wildfire” will be the sequel to 2021’s hugely popular “Halloween Nightmare Fuel” show that featured international performance group The Fuel Girls, highlighting a new Dreamer in the depths of another nightmare, all set to pulse-pounding metal, rock, and electronic soundtracks.
The Universal Studios Lagoon will be the setting for “Ghoulish! A Halloween Tale,” an all-new presentation that follows the Grim Reaper’s patrols beyond the grave, with another specially-mixed musical score.
Florida’s premier Halloween event celebrates its 31st year, starting this September, and it will also feature a limited-time experience at Universal’s eight hotels, where guests will enjoy exclusive access to a dedicated entry gate for the event and HHN experiences at some of the hotels, notably the immersive photo opportunities of the Universal Monsters Gallery of Legends at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
