Universal Orlando will introduce escape rooms themed to “Jurassic World” and “Back to the Future” at its CityWalk entertainment complex this year, the resort announced Monday.
Universal’s Great Movie Escape will include interactive missions amid detailed sets, a news release said. It has been “concepted and designed by the same creative masterminds responsible for the wildly immersive haunts of Halloween Horror Nights,” the release added.
The escape rooms will operate in the space formerly occupied by The Groove, a multilevel dance nightclub, next door to Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food restaurant. A construction wall currently blocks the entrance of The Groove, which is on the upper level of CityWalk. It has stood there since late 2021.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure has a land devoted to “Jurassic” films, while Universal Studios theme park opened a “Back to the Future” ride in 1991, which was replaced by the Simpsons Ride in 2008.
Universal Orlando did not release an opening date or pricing for the escape rooms.
