Warlando
We wrote about this fest back again in March and it sounded a little bit dicey. Maintain a metal festival — albeit outside, and that’s no little thing — in Orlando for the duration of an exponential COVID spike, have it come about on Sept. 11 and then simply call it Warlando. Go for the gusto, we guess. The dissenting check out would have it that Judas Priest are truly worth the chance, and y’know what, we’re be really hard-pressed to disagree: The complete Judas Priest-curated lineup contains Sabaton, Lacuna Coil, Soulfly, Mushroomhead and Uncured. In addition, our shameful vice, Monster Strength, is a single of the sponsors, so why not swill that questionable nectar of the gods while belting out “Painkiller” and “You’ve Received A further Point Coming”? In summation: Priest’s Rob Halford is the goddamn dude. 1 p.m., Central Florida Fairgrounds, 4603 W. Colonial Push, warlandofest.com, $20-$135.
