Through his iconic characters – not to mention his memorable cameos in Marvel movies – Stan Lee taught the world that anyone could be a superhero, and thanks to him, we can all see ourselves represented in the evolving Marvel Universe.

“Stan Lee was one of the most prolific and legendary comic creators of all time, so it’s fitting to honor him in Avengers Campus – a land dedicated to the next generation of Super Heroes,” wrote Disneyland Public Relations Director Gabriel Gibaldi in the Disney Parks Blog.

The plaque reads:

We dedicate Avengers Campus to the incomparable Stan Lee.

“That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt a real superhero.”

Thank you, Stan, for inspiring the hero within each of us. You have made us all True Believers.
