Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas was struck by a cargo ship while docked in Freeport, Bahamas on Wednesday.
The Port Canaveral-based vessel that sails three-, four- and five-night itineraries did not suffer too much damage, according to a statement from the cruise line.
“A cargo vessel made contact with Mariner of the Seas while the ship was docked. No one was injured on board, and Mariner experienced minimal damage. The ship will continue on its itinerary as planned,” reads the statement.
Images of the incident were posted to the Royal Caribbean Blog, which is not affiliated with the cruise line.
Site runner Matt Hochberg reported one of his blog’s contributors Allie Hubers was on board, and said the ship’s captain announced, “a boat bounced into us on our stern.”
