Who is the Most-Loved Super Mario Character?
With over 6,000 votes, Yoshi– who debuted as Mario and Luigi’s sidekick in Super Mario World in 1990 – takes the crown as the most-loved character in the Super Mario Universe, followed by Mario’s fraternal twin brother, Luigi, in second place.
Surprisingly, Mario, the star of over 200 video games since his first appearance in Donkey Kong in 1981, came in third place, despite being named the “Most Prolific Video Game Character” of all time by Guinness World Records.
“Super Mario is one of the most popular video game franchises around the world and remains the best-selling franchise to date,” said a spokesman for Cribbage Online. “Whether or not you play video games, most of us will recognize some of the characters.”
