Actress, entrepreneur and part of the “Star Wars” universe, Ashley Eckstein, joins Orlando Sentinel tourism reporter Dewayne Bevil to talk about how growing up with Disney World in her backyard helped catapult her career. “If I did a DNA test, Disney would be in my DNA,” Ashley explains as she recounts tales of researching school projects at Epcot and taking advantage of Orlando’s “Hollywood East” phase to land acting roles as a youngster. She ties each step of her career to lessons learned from her childhood visits to the theme park, “Disney taught me that the impossible is possible, that the intangible is tangible.” Her resilience helped Ashley get the part voicing the role of “Star Wars” character Ahsoka Tano. And, after landing that role, she created the Her Universe clothing line to fill a void and create fashion for fangirls. Listen to this episode of Theme Park Rangers using the player below.
