Legoland Florida has set a revised grand opening date for its attraction delayed by the flooding that followed Hurricane Ian. The Winter Haven theme park’s Pirate River Quest will debut Jan. 12, the resort announced Tuesday.
The new boat ride was slated to open Nov. 2, but in October, Legoland officially shifted the attraction to an “early 2023″ arrival.
The park also released a new image of the Pirate River Quest vessels and a video that includes figures seen during the attraction, which will travel through the waters of Lake Eloise and Cypress Gardens. Among the sights: giant red tentacles emerging from the water, a monkey — armed with saber and banana — confronting a pirate, a selection of exotic birds and a Lego sunbather.
The title quest is to “uncover the lost treasure of Captain Redbeard,” according to a Legoland news release.
Pirate River Quest will shove off with visitors just before Legoland begins its Pirate Fest Weekends event, which runs Saturdays and Sundays from Jan. 21 through Feb. 19.
