‘Director’s Choice’ spotlights the ‘stars of tomorrow’ courtesy the Orlando Ballet
As Orlando Ballet’s 2022/2023 year winds down — the past fling becoming an upcoming creation of A Streetcar Named Want — the troupe is putting on Director’s Alternative, a method of three short ballets to showcase “stars of tomorrow” from the Ballet’s 2nd Company.
Attendees will see “Paquita,” Heath Gill’s “The Up coming Massive Thing” and the premiere of New York–based choreographer Natrea Blake’s “Breakthrough” piece from the Dance Accelerator 2 choreography competitors. Director’s Selection really should be a wonderful — and likely graceful — crash course.
Thursday-Sunday, March 23-26, Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre, 600 N. Lake Formosa Generate, orlandoballet.org, $30-$85.
