Many several years in the past this author managed to catch a functionality of Michael Pink’s visceral ballet production of vampire vintage Dracula. Considering that then we’ve been scuttling all over in the shadows, mesmerized like Renfield, waiting for the dim learn to return.

Well, Halloween is just about here and Pink’s vampire lord will be holding courtroom
in Steinmetz Corridor for a very long weekend courtesy the Orlando Ballet. Dispatching with the typical conceptions of ballet as ethereal and tasteful, Pink’s Dracula is actual physical and gothic.

This staging of Bram Stoker’s tale is cinematic, formidable and somehow lush and bloody all at once. The sets are outstanding, the narrative arc is gripping and Dracula himself is a towering pressure-of-mother nature. This is a single for all preferences and (blood) varieties.
