MagicBand+ unlocks interactive experiences like ‘Batuu Bounty Hunters’

Walt Disney World Resort introduced MagicBand in 2013 to make the guest experience more convenient, including park and guest room entry, retail and dining, Disney PhotoPass service, and more. This summer, MagicBand+ will not only continue those features but also unlock new interactive experiences, including Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters in Galaxy’s Edge.

Once guests enter a Walt Disney World theme park, their MagicBand+ will “come alive” with color-changing lights, haptic vibrations, and gesture recognition. The wearable will also allow guests to engage with favorite Disney moments in new ways and discover new interactive experiences that will launch when MagicBand+ goes on sale this summer.

New MagicBand+ Experiences Include:

Disney Fab 50 Quest – A scavenger hunt throughout the four Walt Disney World theme parks using MagicBand+ to interact with the 50th-anniversary golden character sculptures. The Play Disney Parks app will also offer hints and keep track of sculptures found, which unlock digital achievements, including an augmented reality feature.

MagicBand+ - Batuu Bounty Hunters

Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters – Guests can join Batuu’s Bounty Hunters’ Guild in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and use their MagicBand+ to find virtual bounties hidden throughout Black Spire Outpost. The band’s light patterns and haptics will guide guests to complete their mission when they can return to the local guild master to be rewarded with galactic credits. Guests can also use the Play Disney Parks mobile app’s built-in augmented reality thermal viewer to reveal their virtual bounty.

MagicBand+ - Nighttime Spectaculars

Nighttime Spectaculars – MagicBand+ will light up to enhance the magic of “Harmonious” at Epcot and “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom.

Disney Resort hotel guests and Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will have the option to purchase MagicBand+ at a discounted, pre-arrival price. Guests may also continue to use their existing MagicBand and Disney MagicMobile (available on eligible devices). Original MagicBands will continue to be available for purchase.

MagicBand+ will be available at Disneyland Resort later this year. Details will be shared soon, but some features will vary between Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
