Jennifer Hudson to be honored at Palm Springs film awards

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (CNS) — Jennifer Hudson will be honored with the Chairman’s Award at the Palm Springs Global Movie Awards for her general performance in “Regard,” competition organizers introduced Monday.

The award will be presented in individual on Jan. 6 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and will kick off the Palm Springs Global Movie Competition, which will operate via Jan. 17.

“Respect” follows the tale of Aretha Franklin’s job from her childhood beginnings singing in a church choir to her increase to international stardom. Hudson was also an govt producer of the movie.
