Howl-O-Scream returns with Captain’s Revenge this Halloween

Elen Salzburg June 27, 2022

SeaWorld Orlando has released more spooky little details about its 2022 edition of Howl-O-Scream, including a brief description of one of its haunted houses for its Halloween fright fest.

Captain’s Revenge — Drowned in Darkness will be one of the mazes at the after-hours event, which launches Sept. 9 at the theme park. The official Howl-O-Scream website lists the house as having lilting melodies, whispers of untold fortune, haunting echoes and a crew “driven made by cursed treasure and doomed to face the fury of the sea.”

Last year, one of Howl-O-Scream’s four houses also was called Captain’s Revenge. SeaWorld’s social media refers to this year’s house as “newly re-imagined.”

The park says a new scare zone for 2022 will be called Cut Throat Cove, set on the site of a shipwreck and home to the souls of marauding pirates.

Longshoremen Tavern, a themed bar, will return to this fall’s event, SeaWorld also said.

Tickets are on sale for the after-hours event, which runs select nights between Sept. 9 and Oct. 31. It’s the second year for SeaWorld to play host to an intense Halloween event. The park continues to hold the more kid-friendly Spooktacular, which begins Sept. 10.
