Holiday lineup has shows, parade, new fireworks

SeaWorld Orlando has unwrapped plans for the theme park’s Christmas celebration, which begins Nov. 11. The festivities will include a new fireworks show and new locations for some old favorites.

Returning attractions will include the shimmering Sea of Trees, 100 lit-up cones that will act as a base below “Holiday Reflections” pyrotechnics.

Young audience members may see Sesame Street Christmas Parade as well as “Elmo’s Christmas Wish” at SeaPort Theatre.

Santa Claus will be stationed in a new workshop in the Shoppes at the Waterfront area, while Rudolph and Bumble will have photo opportunities in a new spot at Wild Arctic.

The “Winter Wonderland on Ice” show will be presented at night at Bayside Stadium, where park guests will be able to pay to ice skate during the day.

Other entertainers will be sprinkled across the park, including jump-roping toy soldiers, stilt walkers and Elf Story Chair Stacking, located in Sharks Plaza. The Bayside Pathway, former home to some activities, is currently off limits to visitors while the Pipeline roller coaster is under construction.

SeaWorld has added to its holiday menu, but hot cocoa remains in place for the theme park's Christmas events.

SeaWorld also revealed a partial menu of its new food offerings for the holiday. On the list is Santa’s Sweet & Savory Treat Doughnut Chicken Sandwich, arroz con dulce, Monty Cristo Waffle, Christmas bread pudding, Christmas beer sangria and a Winter Wonderland hot toddy.

The park will also mark Hanukkah (Dec. 18-26), Kwanzaa (Dec. 26-Jan. 1) and New Year’s Eve.

The bulk of SeaWorld’s holiday celebration is included in regular theme park admission. Event dates are Nov. 11-13 and 18-27, Dec. 2-4, 9-31, and Jan. 1-3. For more information, go to seaworldorlando.com.
