There ended up any amount of things that designed Figurehead’s 1980s-’90s run of shows so effective — having the operate of venues like the Edge, the Beacham and Sapphire Supper Club and catching the maverick eye of Jim Faherty are two. But just one key was the incredibly sharp, smooth and plain gorgeous flyer artwork that advertised whatsoever Figurehead clearly show was on the horizon.

Figurehead sought to wander in the footsteps of 4Advert and Factory, and uncovered their personal Floridian answers to Vaughan Oliver and Peter Saville in a corps of fully commited young designers and artists.

Five of those boundary-pushers — Thomas Scott, Jeff Matz, Scott Sugiuchi, Greg Reinel and Klaus Heesch — will take part in a roundtable dialogue with UF professor Dr. Dori Griffin about their operate and memories of the audio bubbling beneath in Central Florida at the time.
