CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A radio station in Davidson has a new live performance sequence launching this thirty day period that places a present day twist on classical music.
The Noteworthy Live performance Collection is bringing artists from diverse genres alongside one another to enable break musical stereotypes on WDAV 89.9. The series is a collaborative partnership between WDAV and Reasonable Enjoy.
Arsena Schroeder, a R&B, pop, and funk singer, was paired with Lenora Leggatt, a classically qualified violinist, for the collection.
“Classical musicians, they have sheet new music, a person tells them how to enjoy every single solitary detail,” Schroeder suggests. “I appear from the earth of improv and playing by ear and what feels very good in the moment.”
Leggatt suggests she hopes the new concert collection shows audiences that classical audio isn’t stuffy.
“I really do not know, it feels structured from time to time to a point that can be suffocating I consider,” she states.
Schroeder thinks the sequence can also help their songs arrive at new ears.
“There are a good deal of places in just the arts sector where modern day artists and black artists are not invited into,” Schroeder says. “So it breaks barriers and exposes us to new audiences that we could not be exposed to or else.”
The first general performance in the sequence is April 14. For a link to the functionality, click here for the facts.
