The old truism is that Orlando is not a city that thoroughly chronicles or appreciates its own history — especially in the tunes sector.

The Orange County Regional Historical past Center’s ongoing Figurehead exhibition is one particular effort and hard work to appropriate that oversight. And now a unfastened grouping of area artists, beginner archivists and songs enthusiasts are puttering on their personal exhibition.

The Artwork of Orlando New music Heritage is heading up at Stardust Video & Espresso on Sunday, Jan. 6, with an opening social gathering at 6 p.m. that includes a DJ established from Preston Rockwell III. The present guarantees album go over artwork, clearly show posters, live performance images and sundry memorabilia. The exhibition will be up for the period of January, culminating in the long-awaited return of the Nearby New music Merch Swap on Jan. 27.

Organizers guarantee art and artifacts from  Important, Mark and Lorna (!), The Band of the Title, Beth McKee, Potsie, Overdale and Look at Me Disappear, between many other individuals.

Attendees to the opening are inspired to have on their favorite vintage Orlando band T-shirt.
