LOS ANGELES — Singer-songwriter Britney Spears shared news on Monday that she is pregnant.
The pop star posted on Instagram that she is “having a baby” with fiancé Sam Asghari, also raising eyebrows by again referring to Asghari as her “husband” and renewing speculation the pair may have gotten secretly hitched.
Spears already has two kids with ex-husband Kevin Federline, but this will be her first child with Asghari. The couple announced their engagement last fall, with no discussion of wedding plans. But her cryptic use of the word “husband” on Monday again fueled speculation the pair may have already tied the knot.
She has repeatedly referred to Asghari as her husband in the past week, including an Instagram post late last week in which she posted “pics of my HUSBAND,” followed by a diamond-ring emoji.
The singer wrote Monday she “won’t be going out as much” because she doesn’t want any paparazzi hounding her for money-making photos. In her post, she also noted that during her previous pregnancies, she suffered from perinatal depression.
“I have to say it is absolutely horrible. Women didn’t talk about it back then. Some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her, but now women talk about it every day,” she wrote. “Thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret. This time I will be doing yoga every day!!! Spreading lots of joy and love!!!”
